A member of the New York Association for Capital Growth, Demetrios Dounis is a Managing Director at Heartwood Partners, a middle market private equity firm with over $1BN in capital under management. Previously, Demetrios was an Investment Partner at a middle market private equity firm. Having joined that private equity firm as Vice President on the Investment Team in 2007, Demetrios Dounis was involved in transactions such as the $245 million buyout of CamelBak, an outdoor-enthusiast brand. Responsible for business diligence, execution, and legal documentation related to the initial purchase of Camelbak, he successfully oversaw a transaction that generated a $165 million gain. Promoted to Partner in 2015, Mr. Dounis led the buyouts of companies such as Velocity Outdoors, Ravin Crossbows and Arnold Magnetic Technologies. Among his most significant accomplishments was the acquisition of Clean Earth, an environmental services business. He also oversaw several proprietary add-on acquisitions on behalf of Clean Earth and then guided an auction sales process that netted a substantial return-on-invested capital and a $220 million gain. Mr. Dounis gained experience in his field in the early 2000s as a Senior Accountant with Deloitte's assurance and business advisory services. He subsequently served as an Associate with Goldman Sachs’ prime brokerage group and was an investment banking Analyst with UBS Investment Bank’s Global Industrials Group. In the latter position, Demetrios Dounis worked with clients such as United Technologies in its $3.1 billion acquisition of Kidde, plc.
