Sumner Anderson

As a Partner on the Pharmaceuticals team at Deerfield, Sumner provides extensive research and analysis on individual companies operating in the healthcare industry. Sumner joined Deerfield in 2012 from Millennium Management, where he was a research analyst covering pharmaceuticals. Prior to Millennium, Sumner was a Managing Director in healthcare investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities and a pharmaceutical analyst in Global Equities at Citadel Investment Group. Sumner’s healthcare investment career has been split between investment banking and equity long short funds. Sumner holds an A.B. in History and Economics from Harvard University, and he earned his M.B.A. with an emphasis in finance and accounting at New York University.
