David Benway

David Benway is an Senior Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Greater Philadelphia, managing wealth for life sciences executives, private business owners and families in the region. He has more than 30 years’ experience on Wall Street. He was formerly an Executive Director at JP Morgan, in addition to heading both the investment origination and business development efforts at Vision Capital Advisors in New York, where he led the growth of the firm to nearly $1 billion in assets under management. Prior to Vision he served as Chief Operating Officer for Twin Capital in New York and managed institutional sales and business development at Rose Glen Capital Group in Philadelphia. He joined Rose Glen from BNP CooperNeff (now BNP Paribas Securities) where he held numerous senior roles including Portfolio Manager, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Active Portfolio Strategies (proprietary trading) division. Mr. Benway began his Wall Street career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1992. Before joining Goldman he co-founded KVD, Inc. where he was Chief Financial Officer. He received a B.A. in Government in 1990 from St Lawrence University and an M.B.A. in Finance in 1995 from New York University Stern School of Business. David has also served as a Non-Executive Director of Vision Opportunity China Fund, Ltd., publicly-quoted fund based in the Channel Islands. He is an avid craftsman, gardener and fisherman, and lives with his family in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
