Jean Pigozzi (1952) is a Paris-born businessman, art collector and photographer. His father was the founder of the French carmaker Simca and Pigozzi studied in Paris and at Harvard University. Afterwards, he started working at Gaumont Film Company and 20th Century Fox. He has homes in Panama, Geneva and New York and over the last twenty years, he has assembled the world’s largest collection of contemporary African art. Pigozzi is also a known photographer. Being a dyslectic, he started keeping a visual diary of his friends, family and everything around him. His first exhibition was in 1974 at the Musée d’Art Moderne in Paris.
