David W. Averett

David W. Averett joined Summit Partners in 2010 and is based in Summit’s Boston office. As the head of Summit’s Peak Performance Group, Dave works with management teams to identify and execute growth strategies that build long-term value. Prior to Summit, Dave held operational and strategic leadership roles at a variety of companies, where he was instrumental in driving rapid growth. He has diverse experience in sales, marketing, logistics, engineering, and project management at companies including: Immco Diagnostics (a Summit Partners portfolio company providing autoimmune diagnostic products and services, acquired by Trinity Biotech); George Group (a boutique operational consulting practice, acquired by Accenture); Phoenix Stamping Group (a metal stamping company); The BOC Group (leader in the industrial gas market, acquired by Linde); and The United States Army. Dave holds a BS in mathematical sciences from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Goizueta Business School, Emory University. Dave has been a competitive rugby player for more than 16 years and has served in a variety of leadership roles within the governance structure of these 501(c)(3) organizations. His experience includes helping teams and leagues both raise and manage funds, as well as coordinating and facilitating volunteer efforts to give back to the communities where they reside.
