Marcos is a serial entrepreneur leading disruptive companies in the Brazilian innovation ecosystem for over 30 years. Marcos began his journey by founding one of the first pager companies in Brazil, even before the advent of smartphones, becoming the third-largest company in Latin America in that segment. His second company was Itatel, that explored trunking communication businesses Subsequently, anticipating the internet bubble in the 2000s, Marcos founded Zip.Net, one of Latam's largest internet portals, sold to Portugal Telecom for $500MM in 2000. Later, he invested in consumer goods, founding Sagatiba, a Brazilian distilled spirits brand. Sagatiba was sold to the Italian group Campari by the time it was already placed in more than 40 countries around the world. After this venture, Marcos turned his attention to the innovation ecosystem, founding Doris, a pioneering startup in the use of generative AI for the fashion market, revolutionizing the way consumers buy clothing.
