Andre van Hese is a successful banker, entrepreneur, and early-stage investor. He serves as the International Head of Securities Finance at MUFG, where he leads the firm’s securities financing business across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). With a strong focus on ESG innovation, Andre has played a key role in advancing sustainable finance initiatives, including the launch of MUFG’s first Green Repo scheme in the MENA region, developed in collaboration with Doha Bank. This landmark transaction, which utilised green bonds as collateral, supports Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and contributes to the region’s decarbonisation goals. A recognised thought leader in the securities finance industry, Andre actively champions the development of standardised ESG frameworks within capital markets. He underscores the need for bilateral agreements to evolve into widely adopted industry standards, ideally governed by bodies such as the International Capital Market Association (ICMA). Outside his professional role, Andre is also passionate about art, antiques, and collectibles, and is a keen early-stage investor.
