Deepak Bhagat is a Senior Software and Systems Engineering Executive with 20 years of experience at Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard where he has played a key role in development of industry leading Operating Systems Software and Systems platforms technologies and products which have generated billions of dollars in revenues. His leadership covers vision, strategy, engineering development, acquisitions and technology evaluations, engineering partnerships and global engineering management. His areas of expertise are Operating Systems, Networking and Security, Grid Computing, Server Systems, Virtualization, Infrastructure Automation, Open-source programs. He has made key contributions to strategy, technical direction and engineering development of Sun Solaris operating systems, multiple generations of Sun Ultrasparc Server systems, and networking and security programs for sun servers, sun grid computing program including acquisition of a company, HP UNIX program for HP Intel servers, and first generation of Precision-Architecture based MPE/HP3000 systems program. Additionally he ran a small startup Centrata where he led the development of web hosting data center automation software solution.
