Andrey Andreev

Andrey Andreev is the CEO of the social audio app, Stereo, the Founder of Badoo and the founding partner of Bumble, Chappy and Lumen. Andrey’s pioneering work in dating and social discovery has helped define how people meet in the modern, mobile age. Andrey founded Badoo in 2006 after a series of successful early internet ventures, including Virus, SpyLog, Begun, and Mamba. Badoo experienced explosive international growth through his leadership, launching the first mass-consumer mobile dating application on iOS and Android in 2009. Andrey is credited with the development of many industry standard features, including profiles that enable people to “vote” on other users and paid features like virtual gifts, the ability to “rise up” in the search results, or the ability to see “who likes you”. In 2014, he partnered with Whitney Wolfe Herd to create Bumble with the mission to end misogyny by empowering women to make the first move. Two of his latest products include Lumen, ending ageism by helping over 50s meet, and Chappy, the safe space for gay connections. All of these platforms leverage the shared product and technology infrastructure Andrey had built with Badoo. In June 2019, Andrey consolidated Bumble, Badoo and his other dating apps into MagicLab, his umbrella of internet companies with over 600 million users worldwide and 600-member team, marking the first major step toward an IPO. Andrey has transformed the lives of hundreds of million people around the world. He and his team at MagicLab have innovated new ways for people to meet through the magic of technology. In November of 2019, Andrey announced that Blackstone took a majority stake in MagicLab, valuing the company at approximately $3 billion. As part of the acquisition, Andrey sold his stake and stepped down from the business, handing the CEO role to Whitney Wolfe Herd.
