In January 2025, Lee founded Claymore Partners, a firm built to help private equity-owned businesses unlock growth through digital transformation. Claymore combines hands-on digital marketing execution with institutional-quality reporting, bridging the gap between marketing and investment performance. The firm provides a full-service digital agency, proprietary analytics platform, and strategic advisory—specifically tailored to the needs of portfolio companies in the lower middle market that often lack access to top-tier talent and tools. Claymore is uniquely positioned to speak the language of private equity, enabling operating teams to treat marketing like an asset class. Prior to founding Claymore, Lee served as an Operating Partner at AEA Investors, a leading private equity firm with a legacy dating back to 1968. At AEA, he led digital value creation across a range of portfolio companies, focusing on modernizing go-to-market strategies, improving marketing efficiency, and implementing scalable digital infrastructure. Before entering private equity, Lee held executive roles at several global technology and consumer companies. He was Vice President of North America at Alibaba Group, where he led the company’s expansion initiatives across the region. Prior to that, Lee served as Facebook’s first Global Head of Travel, responsible for developing and scaling the platform’s travel monetization strategy worldwide. He also spent nearly a decade at Expedia, where he held various leadership roles across APAC and North America, spearheading growth initiatives across both demand and supply. Lee began his tech career as part of the founding team at eBay UK, working across product, payments, supply growth, and platform trust. He started his career in the music industry with Warner Music in London.
