Bay van der Bunt

I currently reside in a beautifully converted farmhouse just outside the southern Dutch city of Breda. There my wife and I enjoy a great life together. For almost 50 years we share our love of the world, the love of our work and the pleasure of helping other people achieve their dreams. Today, under the OLD LIQUORS banner, and with an incredible team, I strive to achieve a dominant position in the market for 18th, 19th and 20th centuries Cognac, Armagnac, Port, and Whisky. Recently I started to develop plans to convert my monumental farm estate to luxury private care residences. Growing up watching my father work hard as an independent manual laborer, it did not take me long to make the connection between the job we do and the quality of life we live. I’m curious by nature and at a young age started burying myself in technical manuals and law books. Since then I have never worked for a boss, at least not very long. I have lived in Australia, the United States, and Spain and have sailed the globe for six years in a 31T classic Jongert Sailing yacht. My entrepreneurial life has allowed me to work as a land surveyor, a car salesman, a boat rental agent, a dealer in French antiques, an MG car importer, a dog and cat food franchise owner a commercial real estate investor, a packaging factory owner, a medicine developer, a publisher of a glossy lifestyle magazine and recently an old cognac salesman and part-time project developer. There is nothing more rewarding than coming up with an idea, and to develop it into a business, and more importantly, see its impact on the world and the quality of life of the people who are involved in it.
