Eric Jones joined CenterPoint Ventures as a Managing Director in April 2002. In 2006, Eric was recognized as an Ernst & Young Austin Entrepreneur of the Year, with its Supporter of Entrepreneurship award. Eric currently serves on the board of Integral Wave Technologies. Eric brings a wealth of entrepreneurial experience to CenterPoint. Spending 21 years building companies as an active Chairman/Director, his successes include Tivoli Systems, Inc. (TIVS), Active Power (ACPW), Motive (MOTV), Dazel Corporation, VTEL Corporation (VTEL), 360Commerce, Fuego and NetBotz. Jones is a seasoned venture capitalist with an on-going partnership role in Memphis-based SSM Ventures’ Funds I and II. Eric served eight years as a Special Limited Partner with Sevin Rosen Funds. Prior to his venture capital career, Eric served for 26 years at Texas Instruments, heading various business units as a TI Corporate Vice President and serving as President of the Data Systems Group. Jones received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
