Julian Viggars

Julian joined the Group in 2003 and was previously Head of Technology Investments at Mercia, before being appointed as Chief Investment Officer in April 2018. Julian has over 20 years' venture capital experience and oversees all of the investment activity of the Group across venture, growth equity and debt, in addition to managing the Investment Team. He is also a Fund Manager for NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance, the RisingStars Growth Funds, and the Finance Yorkshire Seedcorn Fund, which include successful listed businesses Blue Prism, Xeros, and Optibiotix PLC. In addition, Julian has been a non-executive director of Xeros PLC since 2009, and is a member of the BVCA’s membership committee.
