Jeff Soplop has more than 20 years of experience in climate tech, AI analytics, SaaS, automation, intelligent buildings, utility demand-side management (DSM) programs, and the internet of things (IoT). He has worked across tech companies of all sizes as an executive operator and helped drive several successful exits. His climate tech experience includes industry leaders such as Brightly Software (acquired by Siemens), ICF (NASDAQ:ICFI), EnergySavvy (acquired by Uplight), Phoenix Energy Technologies (acquired by Duke Energy), and Rockwell Automation (NYSE:ROK). Jeff founded Nimble Energy in 2023 to provide energy and facilities teams with a personalized, automated, and time-saving analytics platform for all their energy and utilities related goals. Jeff’s experience also includes leading research and development for behavioral energy, smart building and enterprise energy management products using AI-analytics methods including predictive analytics, machine learning algorithms, fault detection and diagnostics, and model-predictive control. Jeff is an adjunct professor at the University of Northa Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he teaches a class on energy and data science, and he is also a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy Engineers and certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. He holds a BS in Integrated Science and Technology from James Madison University, an MA in Mass Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill, and an MS in Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
