Sayanta Basu

Sayanta after spending two decades in investment management both in Public and Private markets is now building a global wealthtech platform. His is a Founder of Agrud Technologies which uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to democratize wealth management for the mass affluent by bringing Wall Street information and analysis to the masses. He was a leading member at Dubai Holding for 10 years managing in excess of USD 8 Billion in Operating Assets including NASDAQ-OMX, Bank Islam, Bank Muscat, EFG and serving on most of their Boards. He was instrumental in buying, restructuring and sale of Thomas Cook India. Working as a part of the highest offices in Dubai Government he was also involved in developing the growth strategy for Dubai including projects like Jumeirah Beach Residence. Prior to Dubai Holding he was Chief Dealer at Citibank, Gulf managing more than a USD 2 Billion balance sheet. He also teaches at Singapore Management University and at IIT Kharagpur and is actively involved with the IIT and IIM Alumni Associations in Singapore.
