Andrew Sibbald is the Chairman and Senior Managing Director at Evercore Partners. Mr. Sibbald was previously the co-founder and Senior Partner of Lexicon Partners which was acquired by Evercore in 2011. Prior to founding Lexicon Partners in 2000, Mr. Sibbald was a Managing Director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he led a team specialising in mergers & acquisitions in the financial institutions sector. He was previously a partner in The Phoenix Partnership, a corporate advisory and private equity business which was acquired by DLJ in 1997 and prior to that spent his early career at Chemical Bank and Manufacturers Hanover Trust. Mr. Sibbald has over 25 years of experience in advising financial institutions on M&A and corporate finance. Some of his transactions include advising Old Mutual on the sale of its Nordic business to Skandia Liv, Towergate on its equity and debt recapitalisation, HSBC on the sale of its insurance broking business to MMC, Aon on its acquisition of Benfield, Admiral and Hargreaves Lansdown on their IPOs on the London Stock Exchange, Prudential on its successful bid defence following an approach by Aviva, Prudential on the sale of its banking subsidiary Egg to Citigroup, Barclays on the sale of Barclays Life to Swiss Re and Irish Permanent on its merger with Irish Life. He has a degree in economics and accounting from Bristol University. He is a Vice President of Save the Children (UK), a member of the Advisory Council of Impetus Trust, a venture philanthropy charity, and a Senior Visiting Fellow of Cass Business School.
