He graduated in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan and began his professional journey at top firms like Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company, and Bain & Company. Between 2005 and 2009, he led the Motors and New Businesses division at eBay. In 2008, he launched a price comparison platform initially called Assicurazioni.it, which later became Facile.it, focusing on insurance and financial products. The company was sold to Oakley Capital in 2014. That same year, he co-founded Prima Assicurazioni, a digital insurance company that raised €100 million in 2018 from investors including Goldman Sachs and Blackstone. Genovese also started Brumbrum, an online used car retailer, and invested in various startups like Abiby, Zappyrent, and Jobtech. Prima Assicurazioni, founded in 2014 by Alberto Genovese, is currently undergoing a full ownership sale process. The company has grown significantly and is now valued at approximately €1.6 billion.
