Mike Horton is the chief strategy officer of Anello Photonics since February 2020. He is also a member and investor of Sand Hill Angels and Band of Angels. While a student at UC Berkeley, he began experimenting with some of the world's earliest surface-micromachined MEMS acceleration sensors. Based on this study, he created a small tracking device for computer games and founded Crossbow Technology to sell it. For almost two decades, Crossbow (now Moog Crossbow) has been developing innovative products that make use of sensing, navigation, and communication. Following the sale of Crossbow to Moog, he co-founded Yabberz with his wife Melissa Horton to foster entertaining civic dialogue on current events. He also co-founded AtMaps with UC Berkeley Professor Avideh Zakhor to create indoor mapping and positioning solutions. He received his MSEE in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
