Emma has 20 years’ experience operating at the nexus between sustainable investment, financial innovation and social and environmentally friendly development. After 10 years in Latin America crafting socially and financially sustainable businesses, Emma joined ERM, the global environmental consultancy, in 2008 to set up and run the Low Carbon Enterprise Fund. After moving to Nairobi in January 2012, she has advised the Calvert Foundation, Aga Khan Trust for Culture, UNDP, Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor and the Kenya Bankers’ Association (KBA) in impact investing and sustainable finance. Having consulted to the LCEF during this time, she rejoined the LCEF as Director in 2016, just before their merger with OPES in 2017. Emma has a first class Bachelor’s Degree from Oxford University in History, a Masters in Resource Management from the University of British Columbia, Canada and an MBA with Distinction from Oxford’s Said Business School, where she was a Skoll Scholar in Social Entrepreneurship.
