Mo El Husseiny is an experienced tech start-up investor. He founded and is Managing Partner of Ventura Capital, a venture capital company focused on backing non-listed, high-growth companies in the consumer tech and cybersecurity sectors. With the founding of Ventura Capital in 2012, Mo El Husseiny set out to discover and invest in those technological innovations which can disrupt the technology market and improve the lives of our communities. Mo El Husseiny´s investment approach is led by the belief that trust is fundamental to everything they do at Ventura – from fostering a culture of trust within the firm, through trusting the founders he backs, to earning the trust of his investors. Ventura Capital has so far allocated more than $1 billion to pre-IPO tech start-ups which include DELOS, Xiaomi, Paytm, Spotify, Coursera, Alibaba, Twitter, Uber, Lyft, Didi, C8 Technologies, Lookout, The Mobility House, Newstead Capital, Owlstone Medical, QiO, Upgrade and Railsbank. Mo El Husseiny and the Ventura Capital team have over the years delivered global IRR of over 50% on average across its portfolio. In addition to his day-to-day job at Ventura, Mo serves as Board Director of a number of companies amongst those listed above. Previously, Mo El Husseiny held various senior positions at Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi Sovereign Wealth Fund, Abu Dhabi’s Leadership Development Center, as well as Goldman Sachs, in London. Mo El Husseiny is a Socio de Honor of the Royal Sailing Club of Spain, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Albert Hall and a Trustee of the Royal Albert Hall Trust.
