Michael co-founded Fjord in 2007 after acting as Managing Director of the World Economic Forum during 2005-2007, where he was involved in working groups on climate change mitigation and saw a need for growth equity investing in the field. Prior to that, Michael spent 28 years with McKinsey & Company, covering more than 300 engagements, many with Fortune 100 International corporations, across energy and financial services sectors. In addition to his Fjord role, Michael is currently serving as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Poyry plc, Finland, and a Chairman of the Supervisory Board of EuramBank AG, Austria. Michael holds an MSc Chemistry from Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, a DSc in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau.
