George Hoyem

George Hoyem is the Investment Committee of One 9 Investments. Hoyem is a highly accomplished and visionary leader with over 25 years of extensive experience in venture capital, entrepreneurship, and the national security intelligence markets. He has been at the forefront of innovation, guiding technology companies to success, and contributing to the protection of our nation through his involvement in national security and intelligence-focused organizations. At IQT, he has played a pivotal role in helping to bridge the gap between the evolving technological landscape of startups and the demanding technology needs of national security agencies. As the EVP of Investments at IQT (In-Q-Tel), the strategic venture capital arm of the CIA and broader Intelligence Community. Hoyem leads the IQT investment team who have invested in many hundreds of VC backed companies which play a pivotal role in ensuring that cutting-edge technologies reach the national security agencies responsible for safeguarding our nation. Hoyem's leadership extends beyond his role at IQT. He is an active advocate for the venture capital community, serving on the Board of Directors of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) for a four-year term. In this role, he championed policies that support entrepreneurship and the growth of VC-backed companies, helping to shape the future of the U.S. entrepreneurial ecosystem. Hoyem’s position at IQT puts him at the forefront of identifying and backing cutting edge technologies and knowing where these trends are breaking and impacting the global innovation and tech ecosystems.
