Mark has been involved in the venture capital industry in Ireland since 2001. Prior to joining Atlantic Bridge in 2004, Mark was CEO of Mentor Capital, a venture capital firm he founded in 2001 that specialized in investing in and mentoring seed and early stage technology companies. Mark has a successful track record of investing in and growing technology companies and has sold numerous companies, including OMI, Firecomms and Nanotech, to international buyers since 1997. He is currently a director of a number of Atlantic Bridge portfolio companies, including Accuris Networks, Biosensia and was previously on the board of Mentec, Firecomms, OMI, OpenMind Networks and Iontas. Before his involvement in venture capital, Mark was the Group Financial Director of Mentec Limited, an established Irish enterprise software company employing over 200 people, where he executed a number of merger and acquisition deals including a partial exit for shareholders. He oversaw a radical repositioning of Mentec which involved the successful divestiture of noncore assets and a focus on enterprise software. Prior to Mentec, he held a number of senior financial management positions including Eastman Kodak. Mark is Chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA). He holds a B. Comm from University College, Cork and an M.B.A. from University College, Dublin. In addition, Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
