David Hamamoto

David Hamamoto has been the Chairman of the Board of NorthStar Healthcare Income, Inc., since January 30, 2013 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He has also been the Chairman of the Board at NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. since October 16, 2007 and as its Chief Executive Officer since October 2004. He serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer at Northstar Capital Investment Corporation. Mr. Hamamoto is the Co-Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer at NorthStar Capital, and he served as the President of NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. from October 2004 to April 2011. He was Investment Professional at Netstar Ventures, LLC. He has been Chairman of the Board of NorthStar Healthcare Investors, Inc since October 2007 and its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hamamoto Co-Founded NorthStar Capital in July 1997 which he served as Co-Chief Executive Officer until October 2004. From July 1983 to July 1997, Mr. Hamamoto worked for Goldman Sachs, where he was co-head of the Real Estate Principal Investment Area and general partner of it from February 1994 to June 1997. During Mr. Hamamoto's tenure at Goldman Sachs, he initiated the firm's effort to build a real estate principal investment business under the auspices of the Whitehall Funds. He is employed at Wakefield Capital, LLC. He served as a Partner and Co-Head of the Real Estate Principal Investment Area at Goldman, Sachs & Co. In 1988, he initiated the effort to build a real estate principal investment business at Goldman, Sachs & Co. under the auspices of the Whitehall Funds. He served as Chief Executive Officer of NorthStar Real Estate Income Trust, Inc until January 30, 2013. Mr. Hamamoto serves as the President of the Board of Trustees of The Brearley School in New York City. He served as Executive Chairman of Morgans Hotel Group Co from March 2011 to November 20, 2012 and previously served as its Chairman of the Board from February 2006 to March 2011. He has been Director of U.S. Franchise Systems Inc since March 1998. He serves as Director of Delano Hotel, Inc. and as Director of NorthStar Healthcare Investors, Inc and Thirsty.com, Inc. He served as Director of Shelbourne Properties I Inc.and as a Director of Hard Rock Hotel Holdings, LLC since February 2007. He served as Director of Hard Rock Hotel Inc. and served as Director of Morgans Hotel Group Co until November 20, 2012. Mr. Hamamoto received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from Stanford University.
