Rasmus is a founder of Merantix, a company in the space of Artificial Intelligence. He studied Engineering and Computer Science at Oxford, Princeton and ETH Zurich. In early 2016 as part of his PhD research he launched howhot.io, a website where people can upload a photo and an artificial intelligence predicts the age, gender and attractiveness of the person. The website attracted more than 1m unique visitors in the first 12 hours after launch and 100m+ uploads to date. Previously, he gained professional experience as a Visiting Associate at the Boston Consulting Group in Hamburg and as an Associate Product Manager Intern at Google in Mountain View. Furthermore, he worked as a summer researcher at the California Institute of Technology and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. In 2014 he was the director and founder of HackZurich, which became the largest hackathon in Europe with more than 500 participants. He is interested in Machine Learning, in particular Deep Learning, entrepreneurship and innovation.
