Uwem Uwemakpan

Uwem is the Head of Investments at Launch Africa Ventures. With a decade of experience and understanding of the African startup ecosystem, he is at the forefront of identifying promising ventures and providing invaluable guidance to entrepreneurs as they build their businesses. Previously, as the VP at Ingressive Capital, Uwem managed operations at the fund and oversaw investments in over 30 early-stage startups across Sub-Saharan Africa. His expertise and ability to identify emerging opportunities played a pivotal role in the success of Fund I. As a founding team member and the Entrepreneurship Programme Manager at The Tony Elumelu Foundation, Uwem spearheaded the largest Pan-African Entrepreneurship Programme, backed by a $100 million endowment. Through his leadership, the program surpassed its initial goals by training, mentoring, and funding over 10,000 African entrepreneurs within five years. This achievement solidified his reputation as a dynamic leader and mentor within the African startup community.
