Drue Freeman is an active Angel Investor, focusing primarily on the Automotive and Transportation sector. A member of Sand Hill Angels, one of Silicon Valley's leading angel investing groups, Drue was elected to the Board of Directors of Sand Hill Angels in 2018. In addition to his investing activities, Drue is also the CEO of the Association for Corporate Growth, Silicon Valley (ACGSV). ACGSV is a community with a purpose dedicated to providing CEOs and senior executives with direct and referral access to respected business leaders, transformational thought leadership, and practical experiences for career growth and business development. Drue Freeman advises and consults for early-stage startups, multi-billion dollar corporations, and for financial institutions studying the implications of technological disruptions on the automotive industry. He is on the Advisory Boards of several privately held companies including Savari, Ridar Systems, and DeepScale. Previously, Drue Freeman was Senior Vice President Global Automotive Sales & Marketing at NXP Semiconductors (2009 - 2015), during which time NXP gained significant automotive semiconductor TAM share. In his career with NXP (formerly Philips Semiconductors), Drue spent 3 years in Shanghai, China establishing a #1 position in the China automotive semiconductor market. While in China he helped launch China's first automotive semiconductor company, Datang-NXP Semiconductors, and served as a Board Member until August of 2015. Prior to China, he worked 7 years in Germany, including 4 years as VP of Automotive Quality at NXP's Automotive Headquarters in Hamburg. Drue has also lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan with Philips and VLSI Technology and held positions in key account management, applications engineering, and development engineering for various companies in California. Currently based in Cupertino, California, Drue holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BSEE from San Diego State University. He volunteers at the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
