Carolyn Fritz

Ms. Fritz is currently Chairman of the Board of the synthetic biology company, DMC Biotechnologies; a board member of the microfibrillated cellulose company, CelluComp Ltd. and a Strategic Advisor to the phytochemical AI company, Brightseed. Prior to this, Ms. Fritz successfully built four biotechnology businesses. From 2004 - 2014, she built the synthetic biology company, Allylix from a start-up, raising $34 million in VC funding, developing and commercializing flavor & fragrances and insect repellents to a successful sale of company. From 1999 to 2004, at Dow Chemical, she built a renewable epoxy coating and soy polyol business and a biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing. From 1993 to 1999, at Cargill, she built an ag biotechnology/food technology business that developed and commercialized new functional canola oils for food and industrial markets. Ms. Fritz has her M.B.A from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, her M.S. from The George Washington University and her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.
