Jim Thompson

Jim Thompson is the founder of Preston Hollow Capital, LLC and serves as both its Chairman and CEO. Mr. Thompson has a 34-year track record in financial services including most recently as CEO of ORIX USA, where he was responsible during his 22-year tenure for managing the growth of Tokyo-based ORIX Corp.’s (NYSE: IX) U.S. operations to more than 1,400 employees, assets of $5 billion and an additional $28 billion in third party assets under management by ORIX USA and its subsidiaries. As CEO of ORIX USA, Mr. Thompson pursued a dual strategy of investments in fixed income credit and acquisitions of operating companies in the investment banking, asset management, mortgage origination and life sciences sectors. Mr. Thompson is active in various philanthropic activities. He serves on the boards of Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance, Aircraft Owners and Pilot’s Association Foundation and Angel Flight South Central. In addition, Mr. Thompson was a founding director of the ORIX Foundation and sponsor of two non-profit organizations – The Jim and Angela Thompson Foundation and the Blue Sky Educational Foundation, both of which support community organizations and STEM education initiatives.
