Thomas Cooper is the Senior Partner at Aperture Venture Partners. Dr. Cooper is a nationally recognized healthcare entrepreneur, having used his medical training and business experience to found several companies which have become the national leaders in their respective fields. Companies that Dr. Cooper has founded include a national emergency physician company (Spectrum Emergency Care, which was acquired by Laidlaw, Inc.), the largest correctional facility healthcare company (Correctional Medical Services), and the largest provider of X-Ray/EKG to nursing homes (MobileX USA, which was acquired by Integrated Health Services). These companies have had combined revenues of over $2 billion, serve over 5,000 facilities, are located in all 50 states and reach more than four million patients Dr. Cooper serves as lead director on the boards of Kindred Healthcare and Hanger Orthopedics and is also a board member of IPC The Hospitalist Company, TridentUSA Health Services, and Elements Behavioral Health. He is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School and taught courses on entrepreneurship for seven years. Dr. Cooper received his M.D. from Indiana University and his B.A. from DePauw University.
