As co-founder and CEO of the Akorbi Group of Companies, based in Plano, Texas, Claudia Mirza led the company’s evolution from its inception in 2003 to one of the world’s largest, woman-owned, and U.S.-based language service providers, helping clients overcome language and cultural barriers to succeed in the global business marketplace. Akorbi now offers multilingual interpretation in 170 languages, staffing, technology, and localization. Offices are in Dallas, El Paso, Tucson, Pereira, Paris, and Hyderabad. The company continues to push the boundaries of technological innovation and recently acquired the RunMyProcess Digital Suite from Fujitsu Limited. RMP creates state-of-the-art automated workflows for clients around the world. Akorbi will maintain the RMP brand, powered by Akorbi Digital. Over the course of her multifaceted career, her business acumen and rapid success anticipating marketplace needs have garnered national news coverage in TIME, MSNBC, Forbes, Fortune and Inc. Magazine, Univision, Telemundo, as well as local visibility in The Dallas Morning News, D CEO, and Dallas Business Journal. Claudia’s business accolades have been acknowledged with many awards. She was named the 2018 Women’s Business Enterprise Star by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and repeatedly ranked as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies™. The U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce voted her the 2016 Business Woman of the Year. Hispanic Executive and Hola! magazines both named her to the list of the most influential Latinas. With a business management degree from Cotecnova, Cartago, Colombia, Claudia is a graduate of the Tuck-WBENC Executive Education Program at the Tuck School of Business, received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the DeVry Institute of Technology, and is a Harvard Business School Alumna of the prestigious three-year Owner/President Management (OPM) Program, Class 52. Claudia serves on the Board of Directors of The Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), the international membership organization for successful women entrepreneurs.
