David Siminoff

David Siminoff is Founder, Chairman, and Chief Creative Officer of [Shmoop](http://www.shmoop.com), an educational website. Prior to Shmoop, he was a Partner at [Venrock](http://www.crunchbase.com/financial-organization/venrock-associates) from 2007-2009. Prior to Venrock, he served as board member, Chairman, President and CEO of Spark Networks, 2003-2007, a provider of on-line personal services and the parent company to JDate. David spent nearly a decade in investment research analysis and portfolio management at Capital Research, making early investments in Yahoo!, AOL, Amazon, and eBay. He later funded and co-founded 4INFO, a mobile search service, along with having made many angel investments. Thanks, Mark. Formerly, he founded and later sold EastNet, a syndicate barter company, enabling television stations in Eastern Europe to trade American TV programs for advertising time from major brands. David currently serves on a bunch of boards including Coupons.com where he runs the audit committee.
