NZ resident Andy Simpson is a proven IT professional with 20 years of experience leading teams and planning successful product launches and deployments. A graduate of the Auckland University of Technology, Simpson has a National Diploma in Business Computing as well as has earned several subsequent certificates. His technical knowledge includes an in-depth understanding of Data Centre, Storage, Cloud Computing, Network, Security, Server, Business Continuity, Virtualization, Software Applications, and more. Through his varied work history, Andy Simpson has had extensive exposure to new technology and trends working between Silicon Valley and NZ as well as been involved not only in the design, development, and deployment of different technological products but also in executing successful IPO launches. Perhaps most notably, while acting as the I.T. Systems and Technology Manager for the Lines Company, he reduced costs by more than $13 million over a five-year span by successfully negotiating new and existing contracts. From this role, Andy was promoted to Head of Information Technology & Security until he decided to make a switch to Cognition Education Ltd where he served as the acting CIO, or Head of Digital Technology and Transformation, for the company on a global scale. In this current role, Simpson has planned, coordinated, and implemented new IT projects and solutions across six separate business units and brands. He has also built a new company intranet, made significant security improvements, and achieved Cyber Essentials Certification for a number of contracts with the UK government. While Andy is definitely has accomplished much to be proud of in local and global I.T. markets, he looks forward to putting his skills to further use by taking on new challenges in future roles.
