Michael Burns is a Managing Partner at Murray Hill Group. As an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, Michael’s career ranges building and exiting multiple ventures in the technology space to the military and defense sector. As an investor, Michael has been Managing Director at Alara Capital, Guggenheim Partners and TL Ventures. He invests in seed through growth stages in the semiconductor, software, and deep tech space. As a serial entrepreneur, Michael has co-founded Agere Corporation, acquired by Lucent Technologies, Traffic.com, that went public on NASDAQ and later acquired by mapping giant Navteq, Ideal Semiconductor Devices Corporation, and was founding chairman of Ciclon Semiconductor Devices Corporation, acquired by Texas Instruments. Earlier, Michael was a program manager at Lockheed Martin Naval Systems. He was an officer in the US Navy. After 9/11 he voluntarily served in the Navy Reserve and is a veteran of the Global War on Terror including service in Afghanistan. Michael is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School where he was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar, with degrees in electrical engineering and finance.
