James Tee

James joined Xeraya Capital in May 2017. His professional career includes key roles in private equity and venture capital across South East Asia, North America, Europe and Oceania. James was previously with CIMB Group where he led the Investments Management Team with the purview over CIMB's private equity and direct investments portfolio. He was appointed the Chief Investments Officer of the CIMB Mapletree Real Estate Fund and an advisor to CIMB Principle Asset Management (Thailand). During this time, he was involved in successful M&A transactions, deal origination, debt & conflict resolution, fund management and fund raising. James has held seats on numerous boards of portfolio companies (including chairperson) and on the Investment Committee of the ASEAN Industrial Growth Fund. He began his career in Westpac New Zealand as an analytics specialist and moved on to the Bank of New Zealand CFO's office. James holds a Master of Finance from RMIT University (Melbourne Australia) and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Auckland (Auckland New Zealand).
