Rudy Dekeyser

Rudy Dekeyser, PhD, joined LSP in 2012 to become managing partner of the LSP Health Economics Fund. Prior to joining LSP, he was Managing Director of VIB, Flanders Institute for Biotechnology, a public research organization conducting frontline research in the field of life sciences. As co-founding Managing Director, Rudy Dekeyser has been instrumental in transforming VIB from a white sheet of paper into a leading European life sciences research institute. Rudy also managed VIB’s tech transfer activities. Key achievements in this role include signing of more than 900 option/license/R&D agreements with commercial partners; establishing 12 start-ups, including 7 venture capital backed biotech companies, of which two companies have been successfully listed on the stock market and one company sold to a large strategic partner. Rudy has served on the supervisory board of many companies, including Devgen (B), Ablynx (B), CropDesign (B), Pronota (B) and Remynd (B), was advisor to several seed and venture capital funds and chairs the tech transfer boards of EMBL (DE) and NGI (NL). Rudy holds a PhD Molecular Biology from the University of Ghent.
