Pankaj Berde

Pankaj Berde, a Silicon Valley based veteran software leader and for more than 23 years has been shaping product development and software architecture of many flagship hi-tech products like Actuate Reporting Server, Legato Networker and recently an open source project, ONOS. A seasoned software technologist, with expertise in defining technical strategy and product roadmaps aligned to future enterprise market needs, is well-sought after as a industry visionary in the valley. Mr. Berde has several iterations of experience of leading next generation product developments initiatives from conceptualization, innovation to general releases to customers. Pankaj Berde is the creator of Open Network Operating System (ONOS), an open-source SDN platform. Mr. Berde bootstrapped the open-source project with distributed architecture and on-boarded a large community of developers around this project. Worked closely with the creators of SDN and openflow in building this project in the interest of networking community. Mr. Berde has been an SDN spokesman and sought after as speaker at various industry events. Mr. Berde also was nominated for a industry thought leadership role as research associate for Open Networking Foundation (ONF), which is the industry consortium for SDN. Mr. Berde, has evangelized ONOS at various industry engagements and summits. Mr. Berde has been building, architecting and engineering software products for silicon valley hi-tech companies like Yahoo!, Infoblox, EMC, Legato, Informix and Actuate. At Yahoo! Mr. Berde, as lead architect was leading a large global team for in-house cluster monitoring software platform used to keep track application performance KPI correlated with hadoop cluster infrastructure resource monitoring. At Infoblox, Mr. Berde as lead a team of senior architects which ere working towards next generation product incubation ideas as part of Advanced Technology group under the guidance of CTO. Mr Berde is currently the Chief Architect and Head of Engineering at FixStream Networks. He joined FixStream to fulfill his long pursued personal goal to provide real data center operational intelligence by applying forward looking technology stacks like SDN, NFV, SDDC and big data analytics. Mr. Berde holds a Masters degree in Computer Science.
