John Chaney

John D. Chaney has been Senior Advisor at Giact Systems, Inc. since April 2015. Mr. Chaney serves as a Principal at Convergent Investors VI, L.P. He is a Principal at Convergent Investors. He serves as a Managing Director at Chaney Capital Partners L.P. During his career, he has successfully completed more than 25 acquisitions and created more than 10 start-up companies. For over 25 years, he was involved in the electronic payments and transaction processing industry. He served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at PreCash, Inc. since May 2001. In 1976, he was a Co-Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Payment Services Company, where he built TeleCheck into an international company with several hundred million dollars in annual revenue, more than 2,000 employees, 400,000 retail customers and processed more than a million check transactions daily. In 1990, he sold TeleCheck to a predecessor of First Data Corporation (FDC). until 1995, he was named as Group President of First Data Information Management Group, managing seven operating companies. In 1999, he left FDC to focus on personal investments. he served as an Officer in the U.S. Air Force. He serves as the Chairman of Pre-Net Corporation. He has been a Director at PreCash, Inc. since September 1999. He serves as a Director at Strongroom Solutions, Inc. He serves as a Director of Mirus, Inc., The Houston Zoological Society, Infraworks Corporation, and Spring Branch Educational Foundation. He serves as the Vice Chairman of The Cedars Camps. He served as a Director of Pinion Software, Inc. Mr. Chaney holds a B.A. from Principia College with majors in Computer Science, Business Administration, and Economics.
