Tim Ray is an experienced entrepreneur with expertise in e-commerce and technology and a passion for building and scaling businesses from ideation by developing innovative products and business models. His current project, JetSavvy is a disruptive technology company focused in private aviation. Tim's experience includes multiple start-ups, successful exits, acquisitions of other businesses and Angel investments. He is passionate about the importance of creative "out-the-box" thinking, analytical decision-making and developing great relationships to solve complex problems and find winning outcomes. Tim holds an MBA from Queen's University where he won a $150k business competition to provide capital for his first start-up, FoodScrooge. In 2010, FoodScrooge.com launched as an innovative e-commerce platform that leveraged group-buying and an innovative supply chain to enable it's customers to save 50% vs retail. FoodScrooge was acquired in a 7 figure exit after 10 months by TorStar Digital in 2011. FoodScrooge was featured on Dragon's Den, BNN and dozens of others media outlets. The business continues to operate as WagJag Grocery under EMERGE Commerce. In 2013, Tim launched Carnivore Club, the award-winning e-commerce subscription box for foodies who love charcuterie. Carnivore Club quickly expanded globally to operate across Canada, United States, United Kingdom and Australia. 2014 Winner: Most Innovative Marketing Campaign (Canada Post E-commerce Awards) 2015 Featured on Dragon's Den 2018 Winner: Best New E-commerce Website (E-tail Canada E-commerce Awards) 2018 Finalist: Most Innovative Marketing Campaign (Canada Post E-commerce Awards) In 2018, Tim co-founded Guy Commerce Inc, as an evolution of Carnivore Club and a collection of e-commerce acquisitions. The Guy Commerce group of companies was acquired in 2019.
