Serial entrepreneur with demonstrated success in new business development, Laura has founded companies in different verticals such as biotech, energy, media-tech, and fintech. After a significant exit at age 25, she invested all her capital in her next venture. After the failure of her new venture, she lost everything when she was nine months pregnant with her second daughter, having to start over from scratch. From her experience, she stopped defining herself by “having and doing” and cultivate a growth mindset. She understood the power of self-talk and how to dream BIG while better-identifying risks and managing them correctly. To surround herself with role models and mentors, create leverage to generate value, and develop a systemic view to approach any challenge holistically. She was able to capitalize on her experience and co-founded a media-tech platform that provides tools for creators to monetize their content. With a catalog today valued at 2.8 billion dollars and users from 74 countries worldwide, the company is on its way to disrupting the traditional media industry, entering the web 3.0 and NFT space. She also helps corporates set their innovation and transformation strategies. Grupo Sura is a Multi-Latin Financial Services Conglomerate with operations in 11 countries. As Innovation Director, she created and implemented the Group´s innovation system and built two new companies. Also implemented the Corporate Venture Capital program (SURA Ventures) investing around USD 34 million, consolidating SURA Ventures as a reference CVC in LATAM for its financial and strategic profitability with three unicorns on its portfolio. Laura is currently a Partner of Latin Leap EdTech Fund and a member of several boards of directors. As an entrepreneur and experienced innovation and strategist, her background working in different industries, ventures, corporates, and VC, allows her to have a broad vision focused on purpose, growth, and sustainability. Laura Gomez is currently a General Partner in MOS VC fund and a venture partner at Latin Leap - Lotus Fund.
