Tyler is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Derive Ventures. Prior to launching Derive, Tyler was an investment professional at Thayer Ventures. Thayer is the preeminent leader in early-stage travel and transportation investing and has invested in several standout companies since formation in 2009 including, Sonder, Mews, Life House and Snap Travel. Tyler was the first and only hire during his four year tenure and was responsible for diligence and execution of investments, operations and fund management, in addition to consulting and research for both limited partners and portfolio companies. Tyler was an integral part of the SPAC team, Thayer Ventures Acquisition Company (NASDAQ: TVAC), and the announced acquisition of Inspirato for approximately $1bn. Tyler started his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch focusing on Software and Online Travel in the TMT investment banking division. Tyler holds a B.S. in Commerce from University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
