Steve Streit

Steve Streit is the Founder & Lead Partner of SWS Venture Capital. Founded in 2018, Steve established SWS to help fund new companies with promising business ideas in multiple industry segments. Some of Steve’s and SWS’ portfolio include companies like Braavo, Gatsby, Paloma Health, Landing, Gusto, Embedded Financial Technologies, and Tortoise. SWS has a mission to partner with innovative entrepreneurs who can disrupt their respective industries and create products, services and technologies that serve customers better. In addition to SWS, Steve is also best known for inventing the prepaid debit card industry. In 1999, Mr. Streit started Green Dot Corporation and oversaw its growth from a tiny team meeting at a kitchen table to a public company which had over $1 billion in annual revenue by the end of Steve’s tenure as CEO. Steve Streit won numerous industry awards and honors for his work – including both the regional and national EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was named one of the 10 Most Innovative CEOs in Banking by Bank Innovation. He is also a philanthropist and founded Patti’s Way, 501c3 charitable organization, which is dedicated to helping children and their single parents or guardians in financially challenging times with grants and advocacy.
