Bob founded and served as CEO for Zenographics, Inc., a privately-held corporation specializing in computer graphics software development. Zenographics was acquired by Marvell Semiconductor in 2006, and Bob retired from Marvell in 2009. Zenographics develops and licenses software to global imaging OEMs for deployment in low-cost yet high-performance printers and copiers. Since the year 2000, tens of millions of Hewlett-Packard LaserJets contain Zenographics software. Other important Zenographics customers include Konica-Minolta (held a minority stake in Zenographics), Kodak, Oki, Samsung, Sharp, Tally-Genicom, Agilent, and Zoran. Mr. Romney is the principal architect of the software; the latest major version is “Zx”, for which U.S. patents are pending. Bob is Vice-Chair of the UC Irvine CEO Roundtable, Chair of the Leadership Council for the UC Irvine Bren School of ICS, and serves on the Leadership Council of the UC Irvine Henry Samueli School of Engineering. Bob is also on the Board of Directors for the Pacific Symphony, and is on the Executive Committee of the Tech Coast Angels. Bob received a Master's degree in Computer Science from University of California, Irvine and a B.A. degree from University of Virginia.
