Jason Bates is Managing Partner Duvalla Investments . Attended at Virginia Tech Jason Bates has a vast set of applicable real estate experiences (as a Chief Investment Officer of an NYSE listed REIT as well as numerous Board & Advisory positions across several private real estate companies). His entrepreneurial, leadership, and investor experience ranges from scaling public and private equity-backed companies to completing more than $15bn in real estate capital markets transactions & deal flow. His background includes public company M&A, land entitlement, property acquisitions, joint ventures, portfolio acquisitions, debt financings (both corporate and property level), vertical development and successfully repositioning and growing various companies. He is currently Managing Partner of Duvalla Investments, a private firm focused on technology investing and opportunistic real estate. Applicably, Jason has successfully invested in all asset types within the real estate industry including office, multifamily, healthcare, storage, and industrial. His previous experiences also include roles such as Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Parkway Properties, an industry-leading firm focused on the ownership and operation of high-quality office buildings across the US (acquired by Management and CPP Investments) as well as VP Finance at Cogdell Spencer, a healthcare focused real estate development company (acquired by Ventas). He’s also the Co-Founder of Sun Estates, a manufactured housing operator and investor based in Florida, and Co-Founder of Ultra Affordable Housing. What’s more, he was previously on the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors at the Central Florida Expressway Authority, as well as Board of Directors of Anchor Health Properties, guiding it through a successful recapitalization and sale. Jason is a graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, and has had numerous, other designations including real estate broker and LEED classifications.
