John Carleton joined The Benaroya Company in 1995 to manage its Venture Capital endeavors. He is responsible for identifying and analysis of venture capital opportunities in the Puget Sound region, negotiating terms, structure and documentation of venture investments, assisting in the growth and development of each investment as either a director or advisor to each company's board of directors, and, finally, structuring and negotiating public or private exits for each portfolio company. John has over 40 years experience in corporate management and development in both public and private companies. Before joining Benaroya he was Vice President Acquisitions at Dyson-Kissner-Moran Corporation in New York City, and then Senior Vice President of GE Capital Equity Capital Group, Inc. in Stamford, CT. John graduated from Williams College with a BA and earned his Masters degree at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He spent three years as an officer in the United States Navy.
