FAYSAL MADJALIWA AXAM is an entrepreneur from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and is the CEO and founder of Faysal Company. This startup provides innovative digital solutions for both businesses and individuals who do not have access to the formal banking system. In 2013, FAYSAL MADJALIWA AXAM created his first Android app for the accounting system of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA). This app has been very successful because it gives SMEs/SMIs access to the entire legal environment and business-related rights. This facilitates trade and investment, provides legal and judicial security for business activities, and offers the opportunity to resort to arbitration and other forms of amicable dispute resolution within the economic area of 17 member states. Building on this success, in 2016 Faysal Madjaliwa Axam created an interactive lake surveillance system on a mobile platform that works with a drone to facilitate the rescue of boats on Lake Kivu in the event of a shipwreck. His desire to improve the living conditions of his community led him to create an app aimed at the unbanked to enable them to benefit from financial and social inclusion. In 2018, his insight and entrepreneurial skills were rewarded when he joined the prestigious “Kivu Entrepreneur” business incubator, where he received training in entrepreneurship and business. He created the Tap and Pay and Easy Book apps, two innovations that opened the doors to a World Bank competition, where the company won a commercial contract with Orange Money. His Tap and Pay system is an electronic payment method using a magnetic card linked to an interactive Android app with an electronic payment terminal. In 2019, he was a finalist in the African Rethink Awards in Abidjan, then he was nominated for the Fin Tech Summit in Kigali in 2019 and the Seeds Stars World Competition in 2018 in Kinshasa. In 2020, he was among the 50 Digital Champions of the Africa Digital Festival in Ghana. In 2021, he was nominated among the top three for the Innovation Rebranding Africa Award. In 2022, eager to pursue his development prospects and be at the heart of innovation in the service of major societal challenges, he attended Vivatech, the largest European event dedicated to startups and new technologies.
