David Mathison is the founder and CEO of InnovationExchange.ai, parent of the Chief AI Officer (CAIO) Summit, CDO/CDAO Summits, and the CDO Club — the world’s first/largest network of C-suite AI, Data, and Digital leaders controlling billions in hiring, investment, and strategic spend. A global authority on CAIOs, CDAOs, and CDOs, Mathison has built category-defining platforms that shaped the leadership layer of the enterprise AI and data stack. His ventures are trusted by the F500, VC/PE firms, government, military, and national security/intelligence communities. He has been quoted by CNBC, Financial Times, Forbes, MIT Sloan, McKinsey, WSJ, and others. He launched the world’s first CAIO Summit (2023), the first executive search firm and TaaS network for CAIOs and GenAI leaders (2024–2025), and the first CDO Summit (2013). In 2012, he founded the CDO Club, a $1B+ influence engine with 100,000+ global C-suite leaders. Mathison bootstrapped executive search, events, and community verticals to independent 7-figure ARR with zero CAC. As co-founder and CEO of Kinecta (1999), he raised $30M in under two years from Adobe, Canaan, Fidelity, and Reuters. Kinecta was acquired by Stellent → Oracle ($440M). He was also VP at Reuters, where he pioneered online syndication pre-RSS, and an early hire at Ovid Technologies (acquired by Wolters Kluwer for $200M). His third successful exit was as a seed investor in Revere Data, acquired by Factset ($15M). He’s delivered GTM and leadership programs for IBM, Microsoft, McKinsey, Bain, and Accenture. He’s partnered with Columbia, Northeastern, Oxford, and UTS, and has hosted summits on five continents. Board service includes nonprofit, corporate, and academic roles.
