Nicolas Du Cray

Nicolas du Cray is a Partner of Cathay Innovation, based in Shanghai. He holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD and Tsinghua University, a Master of Science in ICT Management from EMLYON Business School & Centrale Lyon (France) and a Master of Science in Engineering from Grenoble Institute of Technology (France). Prior to joining Cathay Innovation, Nicolas was a Venture Partner at Iris Capital, a global venture capital investor sponsored by Orange and publics, in charge of the fund’s investments in China. Prior to joining Iris Capital in 2012, Nicolas was an Investment Director at Orange Capital in Beijing, and prior to that, a Senior Project Manager at Orange Labs (Beijing), that he joined as a founding member in 2004. Prior to that, Nicolas worked for France Telecom’s Representative Office in Beijing. Nicolas joined Cathay Innovation in 2016, brings his deep understanding of industry trends and investment direction, and lead the team to invest several high-quality investments, including Momenta, Lumi,2 boss, SXL, KaiOS. Cathay Capital was found in 2006, is in charge of ten funds and divided into three large series including Sino French SME Fund, Sino French (Midcap) Fund and Sino French (Innovation) Fund. With more than USD 3 billion in assets under management, it has invested in more than 100 companies across three continents with office in 7 different cities: Pairs, Shanghai, Beijing, New York, San Francisco, Munich and Tel Aviv.
