Emre Ekmekçi is the Co-Founder of Fundomundo and President of the Turkish E-Commerce Association, Turkey’s largest NGO and Think-Tank organization focused on the growth of e-commerce in Turkey. He currently serves as an Independent Board Member at Migros Turk AS, the leading supermarket chain in Turkey. He was the President and Chief Commercial Officer of Hepsiburada (Nasdaq: HEPS)– a multi-category e-commerce player from 2015-2019. He was the President of Doğan Online Group Companies from 2011-2015. Emre pioneered the daily deal business in Turkey, by launching Groupon’s (Nasdaq: GRPN) Turkish operations and its local Turkish brand Sehirfirsati.com, making it a market leader in partnership with European Founders Fund and Rocket Internet. Emre has global experience in Interactive Marketing having served for 8 years at a leading full-service agency in Los Angeles, California with a focus on global business development and has worked on locations in Los Angeles, Chicago, Hong Kong, Shanghai, London, and Paris. Emre has an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School in New York and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California. A native of Adana, Emre is also a proud alumnus of Tarsus American High School. He is married to Neslişah Evliyazade Ekmekçi and has one daughter.
