Paul Stamas

Paul Stamas is a Managing Director and Global Head of General Atlantic’s Financial Services sector, which includes the firm’s activities in financial technology and payments. He serves as Chair of the firm’s Global Growth Equity Portfolio Committee. Before joining General Atlantic in 2010, Paul was an Associate at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, concentrating on investments in the healthcare services and information & business services sectors. Prior to that, he was an Analyst in the Consumer Retail Group in the Investment Banking division at Goldman Sachs. In 2016 and 2019, Paul was named one of GrowthCap’s Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors. Paul serves on the boards of current portfolio companies Creative Planning, EngageSmart, Financial Information Technologies (Fintech), and Tripleseat. He is also a board observer for Albert, Chime, and Coalition. Paul graduated from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in Operations Research & Financial Engineering. He also earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Paul is a Board Member for the Harvard Business School Club of New York, and Board Of Trustees Member for Convent of the Sacred Heart.
